Homeschooling parents are constantly on the lookout for tastefully prepared posters and other visual aids. They are looking for excellent products with a reasonable price tag. Parthenon Graphics knows this because they have developed a line of laminated timelines with an attractive price. Their box set of 10 timelines sells for 20% less than if purchased individually. Each timeline is 44 in. long, cleanly illustrated, and laminated. The two that I reviewed were on United States History from 1750 forward and Medieval Europe. Most of the items on the latter timeline were related to conquests and wars. I would have liked to have seen other items such as inventions or famous people. This company also has a calendar that can be personalized for your family. This is perfect for those significant dates that celebrate your own history. A third option from Parthenon Graphics is their “This Day in History” calendar which lists an historical event every day of the year. I have always been fascinated by learning what was happening on other days in history. Not sure what to get that hard-to-please history buff? This company also has gift certificates. I have discovered that children love to get these and choose their own supplies. Nothing wrong with them learning good consumer practices early!

I use the Parthenon Graphics Timeline posters in my classes at Macomb High School in Oklahoma. I teach AP US History, World History, European History and Geography. My colleague next door who teaches English Literature uses the Timeline posters as well. When I had my military history store in Shawnee, Oklahoma, I stocked some of these posters and they were picked up by teachers, and amateur historians.
